Abstract Mulberry ( Morus alba L.) leaf, a “source of both medicine and food”, contains antioxidant ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids polyphenols. The effects 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA) treatment on plant growth flavonoid contents in mulberry leaves were investigated this study. expression rutin (Rut), chlorogenic acid (ChA), isoquercitrin (IQ) astragaloside IV (Ast) related genes the synthesis pathways was leaves. results showed that 6-BA significantly promoted differentiation well as, increased numbers new shoots buds compared to control. In addition, 30 mg/L Rut, IQ Ast, it strongly induced biosynthesis-related genes, including 3- O -glucosyltransferase (F3GT), 4-xoumarate-CoA ligase (4CL), phenylalanine (PAL) chalcone synthase (CHS). dietary risk assessment based hormone residues 5 days after with mg /L 6-BA, exposure extremely low without causing any health concern.
